Run a tournament for your own game.
Foosball with colleagues, board games with friends or another competition of your own. Build on your custom Elo-X group and the variant you already play.
A tournament that starts with your rules.
The custom-activity route starts with an existing group and one of its variants. That variant defines who competes and how results work.
A tournament gives those games a defined event and its own standings. Your group remains the home for your regular competition between events.

Choose your variant before your draw.
For example, your foosball group might have separate Singles and Doubles variants. Choose the one this event uses: one player per side or a pair per side.
For a team tournament, rosters stay fixed once the event starts. A casual session with partners changing every game is a different setup.
The format follows the game.
- Two competing sides
- Head-to-head games may use round robin, groups, knockout or Swiss, depending on the selected variant’s participant and scoring settings. Compare the tournament formats to choose the experience you want.
- More than two sides
- For several competing players or teams at one table, choose multiplayer Swiss or a score-table tournament, depending on your variant. Multiplayer Swiss can use finishing positions and tournament points; score-table standings require recorded scores.
A team can contain several people while still being one competing side. Four people playing two against two is different from four players each competing for their own placement.
Get the group ready.
- Create your custom group and activity, if you do not already have them.
- Choose the variant with the right players, teams and result settings.
- Plan the event around the tournament formats available for that variant.
Common questions
Can I create a custom tournament without a group?
The custom route uses an existing custom group and variant. Direct activity-based events use an Elo-X standard activity. Start by creating a custom group if your game needs its own setup.
Can every custom game use Swiss or knockout?
Available formats depend on the variant. Games with more than two competing sides can use multiplayer Swiss or score tables, rather than a head-to-head knockout bracket. Recorded scores are required for score-table standings, but not for points-based multiplayer Swiss.
Does a custom event create a global Elo-X ranking?
No. A custom group keeps its own competition. The tournament adds event standings within that context, rather than creating a standard activity or global leaderboard.
