Frequently asked questions
Do we need a group to create a tournament?
No. Use standard Badminton Singles directly, or create an event within your badminton group. Groups also keep an ongoing leaderboard between events.
How do we fit the event into a hall booking?
Count the matches before you start. Two pools of four need 12 pool matches, plus two semifinals and a final. Choose the field size and match length around your available courts and time.
Can we combine pools with knockout?
Yes. For example, send the top two entrants from each of two pools into semifinals and a final. Agree qualification and tie-break rules before play. Compare tournament formats →
Can our social Doubles session become a tournament?
Yes, through a custom team group. Enter fixed pairs for the event; do not assume a pool or knockout draw will rotate partners after each round.
Do all players need an Elo-X account?
Yes. Participating players join with their own accounts. See Badminton results and ratings for activity information, or the group setup guide to bring your regular players together first.
