Round robin means everyone meets everyone. A group stage splits the field into pools, each playing a round robin. Choose who qualifies for the next stage:
- Round robin → Single elimination
- Group stage → Single elimination
- Group stage → Swiss
- Swiss → Single elimination
Set rounds, qualification places and tie rules before play. Available formats depend on the activity; some also support score-table stages.
Keep the rivalry going.
Keep head-to-head records, confirmed match history and player ratings alongside your tournaments. Eligible rated tournament games and everyday matches build the same group competition. These Elo-X features are free.
From tonight’s rounds to next week’s rematch
Create a group tournament to include your group’s guests and connect eligible rated matches to its leaderboard.
Follow the tournament
Choose an activity and stages, then follow pairings, results and event standings on your phone. Players can record and confirm results; guest confirmation follows the group’s settings.

With rated games enabled, eligible confirmed group-tournament results and everyday games in the same format build the same group rating. Event standings still decide the tournament winner.

Guest ratings depend on group settings.
For an eight-player evening, a round robin gives each player seven matches: 28 in total. Single elimination needs seven matches to decide a winner, excluding a third-place game. Choose based on your time and how much everyone should play. See the format guide.
When Bracket Maker fits better
Choose it when a browser generator, public bracket or exported schedule is central to your event. It also supports double elimination and has a Padel Americano tool for rotating partners. Elo-X supports single elimination; its doubles tournaments use fixed partners, so choose Bracket Maker when those other formats are essential.
Both products support competition beyond one evening: Bracket Maker offers leagues and seasons; Elo-X brings group-tournament results and everyday games into an ongoing rating. Pick the record you want your group to return to.
Before you choose
Is Elo-X a Bracket Maker alternative?
Yes, for supported club and casual tournament formats, especially when your group wants ongoing ratings and match history. If your main need is a browser bracket or a specialist tournament format, compare Bracket Maker’s tools first.
Can I combine tournament formats?
Elo-X lets you combine stages, such as group play followed by a single-elimination stage. Bracket Maker documents playoffs after round robin or Swiss, with single- or double-elimination options. See its September 2026 update.
Do all Elo-X players need an account?
Group tournaments can include guests from that group. The organizer adds them during registration; guests need no account or phone. Standalone tournaments for standard activities require registered players.
